Once, when I was young and inexperienced in the ways of Dodge, I had an upgrade coupon for Enterprise. Given a choice between a Lincoln TownCar and a Dodge Avenger, I picked the Avenger. I thought the lincoln was too long and I wasn't sure I wouldn't side swipe someone while changing lanes or back into something while reversing. That thing was long. But, like I said, I was young and dumb and picked the Avenger. And made the worst pick of rental car choices to date. Visibility was so poor that I hated every moment of driving it through the narrow streets of downtown Dallas.
I have never hated a car more. Also, the Mitsu Galant has some of the worst steering in the world.

Galants worse. At least the avenger has a (deceiving) cool name and dodge made a attempt on making it look sporty.
The galant looks like shit compared to the avenger

You are a horrible person.

Did it at least have the Pentastar V6? That engine, even coupled to a FWD drivetrain is pretty snappy. It would almost make driving this pile of garbage tolerable.

I may or may not be that

We've all been there. I have had an Avenger and a Caliber departing the airport. Terrible, easily some of the worst rental cars I've driven.

Almost 300 hp and sporty suspension? I'll give it a go. I remember years back when the Avenger came out there was a SEMA car with the 4.0 V6 from the Pacifica. That should have been the R/T. EDIT: And a manual and AWD because why not. Even the 4.0 and AWD Auto would have been what that car needed.

This statement....
Visibility was so poor
I don't understand it. I see it all the time. I drive a 2010 Camaro and while I cannot look over my shoulder and see anything in my blindspot, it has taught me to rely more on my mirrors, which I absolutely enjoy not having to look over my shoulder.
So I really hate that statement and think more people should use their mirrors. Now I would concede to someone driving a car with a woman's compact mirror for sideviews but anyone else should be able to change a lane without having to look over their shoulders.
In the end.. if this was the only think you had to complain about....

Huh. Crazy. I've been DDing a 350Z for seven years now and it basically shares the shitty blind spot thing with the Camaro. The mirrors help, but c'mon, there's a reason it's called a blind spot.
I still check the tiny little rear quarter window before i change lanes. It's prevented potential accidents before. In fact the last accident I almost got in happened because I was in someone's blind spot when they changed lanes, nearly running me into oncoming trafffic. I had to brake hard enough to get into the ABS and dodge my car halfway into the oncoming lane. I ended up preventing an accident with inches to spare on either side. The car that almost ran me off the road didn't even notice, just kept driving like nothing happened. And why shouldn't they? They didn't see anything.

I know that I use my mirrors a lot more than I would in a car w/o it. It could be more situational awareness because of it that helps as well, but I am pretty sure that unless it requires some emergency handling I don't actually look over my shoulder to see through the quarter glass anymore.
